Andrew Munthopa Lipunga is a Senior Lecturer in the Department of Accountancy and Finance of the School of Business and Economic Sciences at the Malawi University of Business and Applied Sciences. He has been a faculty member since 2007. He is a Fellow of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA) and a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in Malawi (ICAM). He received a Bachelor of Accountancy (BAcc, MPhil, and PhD in Financial Management from the University of Malawi. He has been the Deputy Head of the Accountancy Department and the MBA Coordinator, currently, he is serving as the Head of the Accountancy and Finance Department. He teaches financial reporting, corporate governance, and financial management.

His research interest is in corporate governance, accounting education, financial reporting, financial literacy, and sustainability accounting. He has published articles in the field in journals such as the International Journal of Health Governance, International Journal of Public Leadership, International Journal of Interdisciplinary Organizational Studies, among others.
