Solomon Kadaleka’s expertise is in Applied Mathematics, in particular, in the field of Mathematical Disease Modeling. He is currently a lecturer and researcher in Mathematics at the Malawi University of Business and Applied Sciences, Department of Mathematical Sciences. He was the recipient of University of Malawi Skills Development Project Award, 2017-2020, for his PhD in Applied Mathematics, which he obtained from the University of the Witwatersrand, South Africa. He has over 15 years’ experience of teaching mathematics. He has taught Applied Mathematics in various disciplines, which include Engineering, Architecture, Technical Education, Physics and Biochemical Sciences, Mathematical Sciences, Information Technology and Systems programs.
His research interest is the application of Mathematics in Conservation and Computational Biology, Mathematical Ecology, Deterministic optimal control and Numerical Methods. He is also interested to contribute to the development of research in Mathematical Biology by getting involved in various research projects and summer schools/seminars in Mathematical Biology. He is experienced in the application of deterministic mathematical models, which have ability to provide clear and precise predictions on the occurrence of various events.
