I am a lawyer working as an academic and a private legal practitioner. I am a full-time lecturer in law at the Malawi University of Business and Applied Sciences (MUBAS) which I joined in 2018. I teach various law courses including banking law, commercial law, labour law and the legal environment for business at MUBAS in both undergraduate and post graduate programmes. Regarding my postgraduate teaching, I regularly deliver lectures in the Legal Environment for Business module to Executive Master of Business Administration (MBA) students and I also taught Occupation Safety Regulations module to Master of Science in Occupation Health and Safety in 2023. My teaching experience extends to other reputable institutions that have appointed me at various times to deliver lecturers. For example, I have delivered lecturers at the University of Malawi in the International commercial litigation module to the Master of Laws (Commercial Law) students. I have also handled modules in undergraduate programmes at the Catholic University of Malawi and the Malawi University of Science and Technology.
My core areas of specialization are international commercial law, private international law, public international law, cross-border insolvency law and international arbitration law. I am actively involved in research in these areas and I have some publications to my name. I have published 2 book chapters and 2 articles. I am currently researching for another forthcoming book chapter and several journal articles. I have delivered several papers at local and international conferences. I am admitted to practice law in Malawi and I have been a member of the Malawi Law Society since 2015.
