You are invited to participate in the Fundamentals of Grant Proposal Writing Workshop scheduled for Tuesday, 2nd December 2025, from 08:30 to 16:30 at the UniPod CollaborativeSpace, and on Zoom (virtual).
The workshop will be facilitated by Riana Coetsee, an experienced research management consultant with extensive expertise in supporting early-career researchers and strengthening grant proposal development across all levels.
The following elements will be discussed and practised:
• The basic structure of a grant proposal (i.e., how to get out of the starting block).
• How to market your research and strengthen your researcher profile.
• Why grant proposals fail.
• Research impact.
• Peer review processes and how applications are assessed.
• Common core components of grant proposals.
• Budget development.
• Whether all research is fundable and where to look for funding.
Each session will include an interactive activity.
